Aqua Fakts

  • It is revealed in a later episode's commentary that Carl makes and sells Guatemalan dolls in his home.
  • Many things are noticeably different in this episode, like Frylock's tone of voice and overall demeanor, Dr. Weird's tone of voice, and the apparent pitch alterings of the narrator's voice at certain intervals as well as other cosmetic things, like shots of key homes and rooms therein.
  • Belle Isle Asylum (aka Dr. Weird's lab) on the South Jersey shore is actually a recycled background borrowed from the old Johnny Quest cartoon series. The setting denotes that it may possibly be in China, since a pagoda is visible to the right of it. Other recycled backgrounds that can be seen are that of the city and subsequent streets, which were borrowed from the Swat Kats cartoon and that of the entrance and parking lot of Powerpuff Mall which was borrowed from The Powerpuff Girls cartoon.
  • The grill Meatwad sleeps on is shown in this episode. It does reappear in later episodes, but the look and location of it is different.
  • In this episode, Meatwad morphs into a meat-bridge. This marks the first additional form he can become aside from what is clearly seen during his intro in the opening credits and in many other episodes.
  • The animation sequences of the Rabbot in this episode were never re-used. In a later episode, the Rabbot appears once again, but as stated in an episode commentary, the staff had to create all new animation sequences for it.
  • In the original cut of this episode (available as a special feature on the first disc of the Volume 1 set), Dr. Weird and Steve were never seen in fully animated form, only as concept sketches (which were drawn by Dave Willis). It is also revealed that Dr. Weird created a giant mechanical frog.
  • Carl's car is in fact co-creator Matt Maiellaro's real car, with some embellishments added in by background artists for the show.
  • A total of fourteen windows are viewable when the close-up of Belle Isle Asylum is shown.
  • Side windows are shown on both Carl and the Aqua Teens' homes in this episode. The inconsistency is that they magically appear and disappear throughout the series.
  • The outline of the hole in which Rabbot exits the Powerpuff Mall from is visible to a keen eye when the first shot of the mall parking lot is shown prior to the events that occur inside.
  • Another inconsistency (which was most likely intentional) is the appearance of Meatwad's jambox in the middle of the city streets, since prior to that, Shake is clearly shown smashing the one in his room to pieces.
  • During the ending credits, the line Master Shake used in this episode is repeated over the music. The line is "Dancing is forbidden." Accept no substitutes.
