Is the Society for Ethical Culture more of an ethos than a religion?
I understand historically, there is no universal establishment of God or other deities in the sect.
How central to a religion is deism?
from a technical point of view its a religion...but just as in many other religions there are mnay people that take the beliefs of the religion, and use those without following the religouses aspects such as holidays traditions blah blah...
Thats right there is no establishment of God...there is also no against those who choose to belive in a higher being..
Well i know that allthough its continually discussed among the leaders in the united ethical societies.....deism for the most part is considerd a personal choice for each chapter, however none of our custumes etc mention God
Im sure its differant in other religions or beliefs systems similar to Ethical such as Unitarism and Humanism
